We’ve waiting 77 years for this! Brit Andy Murray has won Wimbledon 2013. The first Brit to do so since Fred Perry in 1936! At one point Murray – the world number two – flung his racket on the ground in frustration during a difficult second set for the British hopeful but he came back to win it, taking the match to 2-0. He won in 3 sets, 6-4 7-5 6-4 in 3 hours and 10 minutes, and claim his second major title after the Olympics last summer.
Thousands of people descended on the famous All-England club, including Prime Minister David Cameron, Scotland First Minister Alex Salmond, Victoria Beckham and Wayne Rooney, while millions tuned in to watch the action on television worldwide.
Congratulations Andy!
