Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Dies At 55

任天堂社長岩田聡は55で死にます

Nintendo has announced that its president and CEO, Satoru Iwata, died on Saturday. He was 55, and the cause of death was bile duct tumor. Mr Iwata underwent surgery last year and had resumed his duties after a brief period of recovery.

Iwata took over as president from longtime boss Hiroshi Yamauchi in 2002, and led the company to huge success with the Nintendo DS and Wii consoles.

He is a highly revered figure in the Japanese gaming scene and considered the leading figure behind Nintendo’s successful turnaround after he joined the company in the year 2000.

He was survived by his wife Kayoko. Funeral services are planned to be held on the 17th July.

任天堂は、社長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）、岩田聡は、土曜日に死亡したことを発表しました。彼は55だった、と死の原因は胆管腫瘍でした。氏岩田は、昨年手術を受け、回復の短い期間の後に、彼の義務を再開しました。

岩田は2002年に長年の上司博山内から社長に就任し、ニンテンドーDSとWiiのコンソールを持つ巨大な成功に会社を導きました。

彼は、日本のゲームシーンで非常に尊敬の図であり、彼は2000年に入社した後、任天堂の成功ターンアラウンドの後ろ第一人者と見なさ。

彼は妻佳代子によって存続させました。葬儀サービスは7月17日に開催される予定です。
