To celebrate the Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge’s baby’s birth, the Royal Mint is giving away 2,013 silver pennies to any babies born on the same day. Usually the Royal Mint sells these as gifts, but to honor the Duke and Duchess they are giving away 2,013 for free to parents of the lucky birthday babies. The penny will be made of sterling silver, bear the Coat of Arms, and be printed with the year 2013. If the baby is a girl it will be presented in a pink pouch and if it is a boy it will be presented in a blue pouch.

Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge, is due to give birth on July 11th, although rumors have swirled that her mother Carole, claims the due date is July 24th. And while all of the United Kingdom, and the world, anxiously await the royal baby it looks like he or she will receive a silver penny as good luck as well!
